My dream sunglasses

I want some huge wraparound sunglasses. Like Swifty Lazar or something. Ava models a not quite perfect pair.

Sports Superpower

Yohboh and I were talking about what sport you would play and what position. He would like to be the back up quarterback for either Brett Favre or Peyton Manning. I would like to be the best knuckle pitcher in the history of the game.

What sport would you like to play and why?

New Old Outfit

So when I was in Thailand last year, I bought this for Ava. I had forgotten about it until today so Ava got to wear it.

Outfit from Thailand

Seriously cute!

Mean scrunchy face

This is a variation of scrunchy face called mean scrunchy face.

Looks like daddy

One for the good guys

So last year I bought a Hello Kitty Funtainer that Ava started using as her own. Well the lid cracked. So I called the 1-800 number for Thermos. They told me to send it to customer service and they would send me a replacement. Well, seeing how I have weird customer service karma I did that but did not expect much.

A replacement came in the mail last week. So shout out to Thermos. They are one of the good guys.

So I was at Target the other day, wondering when in the hell they are going to put their summer items on clearance, when this gaggle of teenagers wander in. They are playing around and being stupid and loud, which is what teenagers do. At one point, TWENTY YEARS AGO, I would have done the exact same thing. But now, I am all irritated and think, "Shouldn't you kids be somewhere having illicit sex?"

But I mutter "Get a job!!" and I felt like number 17 on my 25 things about me list.

Two years ago tomorrow.

Pleasant Surprise

So today H came over. He saw that we were having spaghetti for dinner and asked to stay. We complied.

He actually will eat this!

We all know how Ava feels about spaghetti.

New Toy

Ava got a new toy:

a pink baseball glove with a little baseball. CUTE! She loves this so much that she took a nap with it and is sleeping with it now.

The last day of Birthday weekend

We hung out at the pool for the final day of the Minjenah turns 37 weekend extravaganza.

Ava had cake.

Random Weirdness

I was at the grocery store this morning. I was about to leave when this man started hitting the side of my car and yelling that I had run over his kid.

I am HORRIFIED. I jump out of my car to see where this man is pointing and I see no child. This man is getting more and more agitated. And I do not see anything.

Eventually, a store employee tells him to take his shenanigans elsewhere.

Growing Up

Ava looks so much older here.

What I did for my 37th birthday

I went to a baseball game.

The Braves actually won. Also there were some home runs. That meant fireworks:

One Year Ago Today

New Dress

I am thirty seven years old today. Here are some interesting facts about 37 from wiki: 37 is a prime number, the fifth lucky prime, the first irregular prime, the third unique prime and the third cuban prime of the form.
Every positive integer is the sum of at most 37 fifth powers
37 is the only two digit number in base 10 whose product, when multiplied by two, subtracted by one, and then read backwards, equals the original two digit number: 37x2=74-1=73, 73 backwards is 37.

This morning Yohboh gave Ava a flower.

I put her in a new dress.

Isn't she pretty?

Two Years ago Today

Daddy and Ava

There is no crying in baseball.

Jeff Franceour was traded to the Mets. This saddens me because Frenchie was the local jock who made it to the local pro team. Not too bright, but a good athlete. In his interviews, you could see he had been crying.

I hope he does well.

The FORCE is strong in her.

So we went to trivia. There were 22 teams and WE WERE NUMBER ONE!

A prayer for the wild at heart kept in cages

A prayer for the wild at heart kept in cages is a quote from Tennessee Williams' play Stairs to the Roof. It is also tattoed on Angelina Jolie's body. To me, this conveys that the wild at heart always long to be somewhere other than where they are.

But what if you are not wild at heart? Not all of us can be. Or what if where you are is not a cage to be endured but a pleasant place where you would like to stay?

I will be honest, I am not Wild at Heart. I am Meek at Heart. So for me this would be: A prayer to the meek at heart who like their gilded cages.

But then again The Meek shall inherit the earth.

AC DC shirt

Behold my hipster kid:

She liked her shirt.

Conversations regarding my butt

I am someone who gets a lot of mosquito bites. It happens every summer. It is damn annoying. I have one currently on the RIGHT CHEEK of my butt. So right now as I type this, it is itchy.

D listed

I know I have mentioned my love of this blog. But this made me snort out loud:

Apparently, Goldie Hawn thinks that her daughter Kate Hudson needs to stop bouncing on A-Rod's veiny roid stick. Goldie also thinks that Kate needs to stick some Fen Phen pills up her cooze, so it won't be as hongray for dick! Kate is not listening to her mother. She is obviously still busting vagina bombs all over A-Roid's dude tittays.

Fireworks blow

Ava does not like fireworks. Due to an unpleasant incident over Memorial Day, she has developed fear towards the noises involved with fireworks. So when they were let off this evening, she was scared. Scared became hysterical which devolved into her begging to go home NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! Imagine her covering her little ears and in the fetal position.

So we went home. On the way home, she began to relax when someone let off some fireworks near where we were at a red light. Well she was terrified and again and screamed GO HOME NOW NOW NOW for the next few minutes.

When we got home, some strange dog had wandered into our yard. Ava and I were walking to the house when this dog came from behing the carport and startled me. Then someone in the neighborhood set off some more fireworks. Well, Ava's nerves had reached the point of no return. Wounded animals make noises that were reminiscent of these yelps. The poor dog, which had a collar, ran off from the noise. I was going to try to find his owner but the dog realized I had my hands full and left to seek greener pastures.

We got home at around ten and it took me until about five minutes ago to calm her down put her to bed. There was a lot of Elmo involved. And when she finally fell asleep, she fell asleep with her little hands covering her little ears.

Happy Fourth of July

Doesn't she look older in this photo?

Hondu and little D are doing BLUE STEEL.
