Ava one year ago today

Poopy Disturbance

Ava got up a full ninety minutes before she was supposed to this morning because she had pooped. She got up thirty minutes early from her nap because of another poop.

She was verra tired from all this poopy activity.

Little Cutie

Blue Steel

This is her Blue Steel.

Gas Shortages

I passed eight gas stations that had no gas. I cannot remember that ever happening in my memory as a driver. I also remember gas at under a dollar. I sound like and old person! Yohboh would remind me I am an old person.

The greatest trick

The greatest trick the Republican party has ever made is let people who are middle class think that they are rich. From portfolio.com:

"In this house, I now glimpsed the problem with upper-middle-classness: It isn’t really a class. It’s a space between classes. The space may once have been bridgeable, but lately it’s become a chasm. Middle-class people fantasize about travel upgrades; upper-class people can’t imagine life without a jet. Middle-class people help their children with their homework so they’ll have a chance of getting into Princeton; upper-class people buy Princeton a new building. Middle-class people have homes; upper-class people have monuments."

The upper one percent really fucks all of us. If you think you are the upper one percent, then you must be, right? Because no one really wants to think about the fact that someone is fucking them over.

Use the Force Ava!

Much to yohboh's dismay, I am a pack rat. I am trying to lose my ratness but it IS HARD! Baby steps! So I found these:
Darth and Mace Windu

and these:
Palpatine and Obi Wan

Someone likes playing with them:

What to do with your extra breast milk

Storchen, a (very innovative) restaurant in Switzerland, has just announced that they will be unveiling a new menu that includes soups, stews, and sauces made with at least 75 percent human breast milk. Some folks might think that drinking human breast milk is strange … but really, what's even stranger is that humans are the only species on the planet that drinks the milk of another species.

From the PETA files

Ava's new word

Ava's new word is apple.

She likes to eat an apple.

Sometimes I think the only thing the Republican party sells is fear.

There are people I know who are afraid of Obama because of what "he might do". He might make this country better.

Is it race? Or is it the deep seated fear that if minorities are given power they would start acting like over privileged white people? I mean what if a black man started giving preferential treatment to another black person? What if a black father got his C plus son into Harvard Business School? HMMMM? What if a black father's friends gave that C Plus Harvard educated son a baseball team?

Ava really likes to converse and eat.

I can be trendy too!

So yesterday, we were at Whole Paycheck getting some food for our anniversary dinner. I got these bags so that I help the environment. Also, they are cute, they fit easily in my handbag and a good toy to distract my child

At the cashier, they discounted fifty cents for me using my own bag. Yohboh commented on it. I replied,"I don't bring my own bags to save money or help the environment, I do it because it is TRENDY."

Yohboh laughed.

Wedding Anniversary

Yohboh and I have been married for FOUR years. To celebrate, we went and got apples. We brought the product of our marriage. This cutie here:
Ready to go

So off we went up north to get apples. I love apples. Yohboh and I went here a few years ago and I really liked it but the one we went to was more kid friendly. It was good, but there were no fried pies.

But they had a petting zoo with goats.

Yohboh and I agreed that Ava was really too small to go in but there were three groups of school kids there. Ava was really interested in them:
Looking at kids and goats

There was also pig races:
Waiting for pig races

Which we watched:
Pig Races

Then we got the apples:
Which Ava liked a lot.

Then we went to a park to have a picnic. It was Ava's first picnic.
Notice we did go somewhere else for fried pies.

Afterwards, we played in the little playground.

Ava and Daddy went on the big slide.
Down the big slide!

Then, we played on the swing.

Then we went to the waterfall.

And admired the view:

Afterwards we went home and had to stop at this giant field of pumpkins:

We also had a nice slab of meat for dinner but that's for my other blog.
